We have arrived. The sun is glaring, everything is white.
The new HD-camera is still hanging from a shoulder – or not;
it’s just an empty case – has the camera been stolen?
Memory failure. The sound inside our heads has been replaced by a softly vibrating hum. Every so often it sounds as though a tap were dripping.
Is it deafness? Or has everything we have ever known somehow stopped?
We feel faint, yet strangely light-headed. If only our memories would start functioning again… We are alone at one of the beaches that have mushroomed throughout
the city centre. The sand is sticky and appears to consist of sugar. Strangely enough, a puddle has formed. A glistening piece of tin foil and several scraps of paper are being tossed about in the warm breeze. We catch one of them.
It reads: FOR YOU – by appointment only – Oranienstraße 25
We’ll go there.
