In the frame of Mapping the Commons, a grassroots online game was developed. But don’t think of a jump & run game or a quiz with winners and losers. Instead, picture a mechanism with which players can collectively tell a story about themselves, their surroundings, about reality, projections, utopia…
To develop the game, Yvonne Reiners invited visitors and groups of schoolchildren to collect content.

The following partners collaborated in realising the game:
- YKON (DE/FIN), who have developed the YKON-game modelled on Buckminster Fuller’s World Game
- Invisible Playground, who are engaged with urban plays and stage games in public space
- turbospascal, who come from theatre and will teach the participants about scenarios.

After the course of the stipend, the game will remain on the nGbK’s Website via open source, where it can be further developed in a participatory manner as an open archive.

Yvonne Reiners works as an independent curator and art-mediator in Berlin. To her, mediating is an artistic research process in itself that allows for enquiry – to re-imagine, re-arrange, and experiment with its methodology and ways of communication. In 2014 she initiated the salon-series Performing Encounters

OPEN BINGO – A Game Workshop with YKON

in English
YKON invites you to an OPEN BINGO afternoon. In a playful setting we will map, analyze and discuss the various movements, ideas and activities that are falling under the OPEN label. This refers to transformative, societal movements such as: Open Source, Open Money, Open Democracy, Open Knowledge, Open GLAM, Open Farming, Open Space, Open Data, Open Culture and Open University. By playing the Open Bingo, designed by Helsinki based artist and utopian activist group YKON, we will find out, how those ideas may affect our society, our daily lives, and the way we produce and distribute art and culture.
Participation is free of charge.
